College Vs. My Dreams

I always grew up hearing how important college is and how you need it to be successful, but I never believed that college would make or break my life. The things I really want to do in life does not require a degree in a certain field, and according to most, it's very unlikely that I will make a million dollars without college. Well NEWS FLASH! Nobody successful person listened to other people's opinions. They just went and made it happen. College is great for those who want to be doctors, lawyers, dentists, etc, but I'm more into chasing my dreams rather than a dollar sign. I do believe I could go to college one day, but that's not truly where my heart is and I love the thought of chasing my dreams that I've pictured for myself all my life.

How to Die Happy

My biggest fear in life is dying miserable. I always grew up wanting to live an amazing and healthy life because I always knew that my mine goal was to die with a smile on my face. I'm going to share my opinion on what you should do to die happily.

1. Always do Things that make YOU happy.
We as human beings, get very caught up in others opinions and we tend to always think about what others will think of us if we decide to do certain things. I'm here to tell you that other peoples opinions don't matter as long as you;re doing something that gives you joy and puts a smile on your face. We weren't all put on this earth to be the same. Take pride in what makes you different.

2. Keep Good Company Around You
Make it a habit to observe and note what other people's decision making skills are like. The last thing you want is to get in trouble for something you didn't do. Keeping good people around you brings the best out of you. They motivate you to do better and the friendly competition adds an exciting element to your life. Good people around you, leads to good results.

3. Don't Fall too in Love With Money
I do believe that money is great and we should all want it, because it's very hard to be happy without it in this world, but we can't become obsessed with it. We will lose out on how great life actually is. If you spend all your days chasing money, by the time it's your time to go, you will not be able to spend all of it and you will end up feeling empty. It's nothing wrong with going out with family or friends for a couple days and giving work a break.

4. Love The People in Your Life as much as Possible
Don't let life go by without letting your family and friends know that you love them. All the success and accomplishments in the world mean nothing without someone to share it with. Don't take the blessing in your life for granted.

Is It Love?

I believe that love has no age limit and it can be felt on many different level, no matter who you are or what you believe. The only thing is, it's hard to know what one's intentions are when it comes to involving themselves in a relationship. They could want money, sex, comfort, shelter, or anything just to benefit themselves. We tend to look past all the signs and we let our emotions take control rather than our logic. Love is the most beautiful thing when it's real, but when it's not, do you really want someone leaching on you? Do you really want someone to use you? I just ask that everyone be very careful with who you decide to give things to and look very closely at how they treat you and others in his/her life. Remember to look out for your heart and be patient. True love will fall in your lap when it's meant to.

Overcoming Your Fears and Living Free

We all grow up with these fears and phobias that hold us back from trying new things at times and believe me, I am no stranger to those situations. I don't like heights, creatures with more than two legs, needles, blood etc. So as you can probably tell, I'm not a tough guy every day, all day, 24/7. But, I will say this... When I do decide to be brave and overcome a fear of mine, it gives me this natural high. It makes me feel like I'm refreshed and a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment and joy. I honestly do believe that you guys should try to at least do something out of your comfort zones sometimes. If you're afraid of heights, get on a Ferris Wheel. If you're afraid of animals, rub a puppy. It's nothing wrong with being afraid, but I do believe it's something wrong with not trying. You may find a new interest that could change your life. You never know.

Why I Love The Person I Am and Why You Should Too

I see it everyday.... People trying to follow the crowd to be cool has always been very sad to me. I feel bad for the person and all the people around him/her because we don't realize that trying to fit in makes us nothing more than average, and there's nothing fun about being average in my eyes. When I wake up in the morning and brush my teeth, wash my face, and look in the mirror, I see myself in my purest form. No fancy clothes, no jewelry, nobody watching, just me and the mirror in front of me. I love that first look of the day. It let's me know that I still know who I am. I take pride in being who I am and growing into my own, even if it isn't to be the most popular kid in the city. I'm fine with the people I have in my life and I love all who loves me. I remember a time in my life when I was very down and wasn't to happy with who I was. I was over weight. I had a huge gap in between my teeth. I didn't have a lot of friends. I overall felt alone and less than everyone else. As I got older I lost all that weight, begged my mom for braces, and accepted the fact that my personality wasn't for your average kid. I learned to love myself and not turn my flaws into stress, but motivation. I believe we all have to do this and teach it to others because life is far too short to be spending it feeling bad for ourselves. Life can't be beautiful without acknowledging the fact that we are too. I love to see confident people walking around with their chests out, because they deserve to have that feeling. We all do. If you're reading this, I just want you to remember these words and always stay true to who you really are.

What I See In Social Media

Hi you guys. I'm a high school student, so i get to see trends, how kids act now a days, and who's "cool" and who's not. One of the main things I see and hear about though, is social media. Social media has such a huge impact on our society and I see it all throughout school each and every day. Most adults just look at it and think it's all just a game and that it's just a phase that only kids have because "It's just our society," but in actuality, social media can really make or break a person at times. In school I always see kids being bullied about what they heard about them on instagram or snapchat etc. Yeah they may laugh it off, but we don't really know what that person is feeling about being made fun of because of an app. Kids in my school have went viral from negative behaviors and could never live it down, all because of Twitter. I remember a certain girl got into a fight at school and she really hurt the other girl. Not only that, but she used an object to beat her with. From then on, they called her a man because of how strong she looked in a video. Kids were calling her that to her face and really made her feel ugly and horrible. I also remember a family friend of mine actually got into a altercation with this boy and she ended up pouring a drink on him. He got pay back by pushing her into the ground and all the kids were laughing at her for weeks because it got thousands of Retweets on Twitter. Her mother even stressed how embarrassed she was to see her daughter get so much attention from something so negative. Remember you guys, this is ONLY in my school. That's only ONE small place in the world. Imagine what kids are going through EVERYWHERE. It's probably not pretty. But don't get me wrong, I use social media and I'm nowhere near 100% against it, but sometimes we overlook the power it really has. The most precious little person ever could speak to a 50 year old rapist online disguised as a teenager, so we definitely should be more mindful of it. But on the flip side, I do believe social media is good for connections and speaking to people about ideas and even showing off your talent. There are people right now, making a living on social media, all because people enjoy what they post. Social media has created a great number of jobs for people. Some people even spread positivity and motivational substance. It can be used for so many good things and I do believe that it is to a certain degree, but it's just so many kids who take it really serious and believe that it's their lives and nothing else in the world matters. I'm a fan of social media myself, but even as a high school student, I believe we need to fix some things.

How I Deal With Depression

I know we've all felt pretty down before and just feel trapped within our own minds. Not only that, but we feel like no one understands and everyone's happy except for us. I just want to let you know that you are NOT alone. I've been depressed PLENTY of times. A lot of it comes from my father not really being apart of my life. But one thing I've learned to do was neutralize my stress with something positive, and i also don't run away from my problems.  What I will do is lock myself in a quiet area and just think about everything that's making me feel down. I also think about why it's making me feel this way. I turn off my phone and stay away from any social media while I think about this so I can feel separated from the world for a moment. After I reflect and think about what's going bad in my life, I try to go outside and just witness the world in front of me and think more naturally. A lot of times we forget about nature and let SOCIETY stress us out but just being under a tree or smelling the grass under your feet can relax your thoughts a bit. Once you've been around nature and relaxed yourself, you should practice the things that you're good at. Say if you're a talented drawer or make good music, create some art and really focus on it. We tend not to think about our problems when we do the things we love. I highly recommend this to anyone who's dealing with any form of depression. After you've practiced your wonderful talent, you should just take a nice, long nap in the dark so you can wake up feeling refreshed. All of these things I've mentioned, I do for myself when I'm depressed and I've come to find out, it works pretty well! Just remember you are NOT alone and you can get through anything!
